There have been so many headlines in the news which stipulate that many dentists are not taking on NHS patients or even seeing them if they are in pain. What’s more, waiting lists to see a dentist in some regions of the country could be up to 5 years.

I feel proud to be part of the Obex Dental family. Where so many people are refusing to see even those patients in pain, we try our best to accommodate anyone that calls us in need.

Obex aims to provide exceptional care, and this shows in this time of need, when finding an NHS dentist is near impossible.  One patient recently commented to me, “Literally you are the only people who care about what you’re going through – the best dentists I’ve ever been to. I would highly recommend you as all staff are well mannered, polite, helpful and wish I’d been a patient there all my life. I wasn’t treated like an appointment, I was treated like a human being.  Thank you very much for your help and advice.”

Throughout the pandemic, we have been working as an Urgent Care Centre and going above a beyond for our patients. We are constantly working on recruitment, training, and providing extra services such as Dental Therapy and Oral health advice (OHI) to fill the gaps in care during this difficult time.

So many people have resorted to treatments abroad and ended up with dental issues which are life-altering and irreversible.  I have faith that the work Obex is doing will keep supporting the public and making a change. It is important to me to say to every single person that is part of this ever-growing family, you deserve a pat on your back and a huge well done. Let’s keep playing our part in society and making a change in people’s lives. Just remember dentistry is not expensive, neglect is.

Let’s make the world a better place, one smile at a time!
