Looking Forward To Our Sponsored Dallaglio RugbyWorks Event

We are delighted to have agreed to support the Dallaglio Rugby Works charity as our cause for the next 3 years; and the former England international, TV pundit and World Cup champion, Lawrence Dallaglio, will be coming along to The Old Cock in Harpenden on Thursday 15th September (6pm-7.30pm) to talk about the charity and invite you to play a part, whether as an organiser, fundraiser, volunteer or even as a sponsor!

Lawrence will also be joined by former England teammates Jason Robinson and Paul Grayson, with the trio taking questions about their time at the top of the game, World Cup glory and their life after playing professional sport.

Obex Dental have organised this special event as we being to build new awareness and support for this amazing charity.

Whilst rugby has been a passion for founder and CEO, Sab Bhandal, Dallaglio RugbyWorks’ mission aligns perfectly with the group’s community work.  Sab says, “We are a community-orientated business, and the themes and challenges Dallaglio RugbyWorks addresses are experienced sadly by many people in the communities we serve across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.  Supporting people to be the best version of themselves is something we operate by, and this drew us to support Lawrence. Rugby, and its remarkable power to change, played a huge part in my life and in many ways, has steered the course of it.”

Dallaglio RugbyWorks was formed in 2009 by the former World Cup Champion, with the intention of welcoming young people from different backgrounds and communities to learn about the core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and beyond.

Lawrence Dallaglio’s passion for rugby has spanned decades, but since retiring from a successful career, he now invests his time in supporting young people with the skills he learned through the power of sport, bringing a sense of social inclusion and personal achievement for youths who are disadvantaged by the education system.

Dallaglio RugbyWorks aims to provide an opportunity for disadvantaged youths who may not fit into the mainstream archetype of education to learn skills and build confidence to lead them towards a positive future within Education, Employment, or Training (EET). Lawrence shares his passion for sport through the programme, inspiring young people to become a part of a team.

Zenna Hopson CEO Dallaglio RugbyWorks says “ We are delighted to be working with Obex Dental and we are extremely grateful for their support. Without Obex Dental we would not be able to work with excluded and disadvantaged people in the area, supporting them to change their lives for the better.”

Sab adds “As custodians of Oral Healthcare provision in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire we are committed to delivering prevention-based care to the communities that we serve. We are continuously looking to find innovative ways to address health inequalities in our region. Partnering with the work that both Lawrence and Jason do, we hope to make a difference.

We are seeking support from the local community to help us build a solid foundation to deliver a long-term project. We are grateful to the Marchon team for their continued support in delivering education on nutrition and fitness, and also for sharing information about the work that we are doing.”
