Dallaglio RugbyWorks Golf Day

Obex Dental was recently invited to enter a team to a charity golf day hosted by Dallaglio RugbyWorks at The Grove in Watford.

Our illustrious team comprised Lewis Hazelton and Sachin Patel (senior dentists working in our practices), Charlie Marchon, founder and head coach of Marchon Gym, and Ian Matheson, Director of Wright Health Group.

We were welcomed by Lawrence Dallaglio himself and also by the team involved in Dallaglio RugbyWorks, the cause our Obex Foundation has chosen to support for the next three years. Learn more >

Dallaglio RugbyWorks was formed in 2009 by the former World Cup Champion with the intention of welcoming young people from different backgrounds and communities to learn about the core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and beyond.

Talking about Obex Dental’s growing relationship with Dallaglio RugbyWorks, Sab says, “We are delighted to be supporting such a brilliant charity doing such incredible work and making a difference to young people’s lives, helping them take pathways forward which in essence help them become the best versions of themselves – where of course there is a rewarding synergy between our organisations.”

It was a superb day, which began with a big breakfast to fuel the competitors for the eagerly anticipated competition that awaited. This was followed by plenty of warm-ups and professional looking practice before our team headed out unfazed and with steady hands (as you would expect from this team) for what was, by all accounts, a fun and enjoyable round – made all the better with the offer of Mulligans for donations.

A valiant effort by Lewis, Sachin, Charlie and Ian, but this was not their day, and it was back to the clubhouse to join in with the hospitality and wider fundraising. Joined by Sab for the evening meal, Lawrence Dallaglio himself spoke with passion and pride about his charity’s work and mission before announcing the winners and prizes for the day, followed by a fun auction – with funds raised going to support the amazing work they do.

Sachin Patel says, “The whole day was fantastic. We had fun entering as ‘Team Obex’ and felt the day was well organised as well as the addition of playing at such an incredible venue. It felt great to have fun but raise money for such an amazing charity at the same time.”
