Obex Staff put through their paces
At Obex. we understand that taking care of our bodies and investing in our fitness helps our mental and physical well-being and in turn, helps us serve our patients better. In order to support our staff to be the best versions of themselves, we held a team fitness and games day at Marchon gym based in Harpenden.
The session began with the essential stretches and participating in different exercise stations as a group of five. We covered all types of exercises such as core and strength training under the supervision and guidance from the coaches. The coaches advised us on areas that could be modified to excel when performing the exercises.
Later we were split into teams to compete with one another for a healthy competition. We worked as a team in a variety of exercises, and were certainly challenged! We worked collectively as a team to support one another and to ensure we were all performing well to succeed.
Robyn Cadman, senior dental nurse, said of the day “The day we spent at Marchon gym was second to none, a warm welcome followed by a brutal workout. The knowledge and experience from the coaches were super inspiring and motivational, I’ve found myself going to the gym more frequently again since the games day”.
The day was aimed at all fitness and ability levels ensuring everyone was encouraged to reach their potential and challenge themselves.
“Like many of us who attended, I wasn’t sure what to expect on the game day at the gym but from walking through the front door to the main event (the intense 30-minute workout) I was warmly welcomed in and put at ease by all of the instructor’s Charlie, Max & Aymon. It was really good to be taught the correct way to do exercises & lift weights to avoid injuries etc and at the end, this was put into play with a slightly competitive team challenge against other ‘Obexists’. It was an amazing day with a great coaching team and would suggest giving it a go as they will tailor it to the individual so it’s suitable for everyone. Thanks Obex & Marchon”.
