Remembering Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
At a time of great loss and mourning of a monarch who meant so much to so many of us, the human instinct of searching for a fitting and relevant way to pay tribute and respect becomes a natural instinct.
Obex Dental is not an official body or global brand, but we are a community focussed business, and an extension of a unique National Health Service forged during Her Majesty’s reign. More than that, we are a business founded by a third-generation immigrant family and established in a modern diverse and culturally rich Britain which she has arguably helped shape.
Obex Dental shares the sorrow of the nation, commonwealth and the wider world in which she was a towering figure. Her contribution to public life and the support for so many healthcare organisations, institutions and centres will never be forgotten. Everyone connected to Obex Dental sends our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Royal Family.
Of great pride is how earlier this year, to mark our respect for her and all she has achieved, we supported publishers, Opus, to create a very special OPUS edition to tell the story, celebrate and honour Her Majesty The Queen’s 70 years as our monarch and her Platinum Jubilee.
With just 70 poignantly produced, this remarkable and substantial book charted her life with images and stories, many of which had never been seen before and which reveal the remarkable contrasting nature of her life, the pomp and ceremony and that juxtaposed real-world family life.
As part of our support for the fittingly substantial sized book, as the image below shows, I was asked to contribute with an introductory letter where I wanted to convey our warm sentiments of thanks, which I have included below:
We are truly honoured to send warm-hearted well wishes to Her Majesty the Queen ahead of the monumental platinum jubilee celebrations from 2nd to 5th June . We are in awe of all of Her Majesty’s historical achievements, unwavering leadership and overarching compassion over the past 70 years.
During the Pandemic we drew inspiration from Her Majesty’s words:
“I hope in the years to come everyone will be able to take pride in how they responded to this challenge. And those who come after us will say the Britons of this generation were as strong as any. That the attributes of self-discipline, of quiet good-humoured resolve and of fellow-feeling still characterise this country. The pride in who we are is not a part of our past, it defines our present and our future.”
This helped galvanise our Team Members through difficult times to serve our communities personify Her Majesty’s wisdom that “We are still a nation those brave soldiers, sailors and airmen would recognise and admire”.
Over the Special four day period our team members “We will meet again”, As Her Majesty said we would. We will be celebrating and raising a glass in Her Majesty, the Queen’s honour.
Our leadership team boosted morale on a daily basis by passing on Her Majesty, The Queen’s message to the nation about “coming together to work as one” during the “period of great concern and uncertainty”.
Our very best wishes, Obex Dental
Finally, our best wishes to King Charles III as we usher in a new era for Britain in a fast-changing world with many opportunities, challenges and inequalities to address. We know he is a man of great integrity and clear ideas about how we can address these. I hope we can all contribute to that.
God save the King.
Sab (on behalf of all at Obex Dental)
